In Loving Memory
NATHAN KWAW BADU
3 October 1940 - 3 October 2005
The late Mr Nathan Badu (alias Uncle Nat) was born Thursday, 3rd October 1940 at Ajumako - Bisease in the Central Region of Ghana. His father Opanyin Kobena Ninsin and his mother, madam Afua Buronyah, both of blessed memory, belonged to Nsona and Anona clans respectively.
Nathan's father, Opanyin Kobena Ninsin was very succesful and an astute cocoa farmer, whilst his mother, madam Afua Buronyah combined farming with trading and excelled in both of them.
Mr Nathan Badu received his education at the Biseasi United Primary and Middle School at Ajumako-Biseasi and succesfully completed it in 1958 with an outstanding academic laurel.
It was therefore, not surprising that he immediately secured an employment with the British Council in Accra as a clerical officer and showed exemplary character and exceptional commitment to his assigned duties with requisite zeal and enthusiasm. In appreciation of his quest for knowledge in order to improve his academic standing and social status, he was awarded a scholarship in 1964 to study chemical engineering in Poland which he succesfully completed within a year.
As an ambitious young man at that time, he proceeded to London in the United Kingdom to pursue his new career in 1965 where he obtained permanent work at Ferry Buttons in London's west end. He continued to work for many years until the firm was finally closed down in the late 80s.
Shortly after the closure of the firm, he secured another job with a dress trimmings company at Tottenham where he worked until he became seriously indisposed about three months ago from which he never recovered. Mr Badu finally passed away peacefully on Monday 3rd October 2005 at Chase Farm Hospital, Enfield, London, ironically on the day of his retirement at the age of 65.
Nathan has now dismantled this earthly vessel and entered a new kind of existence with his creator who has prepared an eternal dwelling place awaiting him. He has indeed fought a good fight with all his might and worn triumphantly. He would surely be missed especially by his wife, children and grand-children to whom he was greatly devoted.
May the almighty God bestow on his soul an everlasting respite and call him to heaven's perfect peace.
